It is critical that our pets have a parasite prevention plan. Why? Because many of these parasite infections are ZOONOTIC, meaning that these organisms can be transmitted from animals to people and cause severe illness.
Confused about which parasite control option to choose? Here are our recommendations:
- Bravecto: The first oral chew for dogs to provide up to 12 weeks of protection against fleas and ticks. One chew provides broad-spectrum and long-lasting protection that starts to kill fleas within 2 hours and controls 4 tick species. Bravecto eliminates current flea infestations and prevents new ones from developing for 12 weeks. With one chew, Bravecto for cats is a topical formula that also provides 12 weeks of protection against fleas and ticks. Bravecto requires a prescription from your veterinarian.
- Credelio: For use of dogs and puppies 8 weeks or older, kills fleas and treats flea infestations, treats and controls tick infestation.
- Vectra 3D: Vectra 3D is a monthly topical, prescription medication, designed to repel and kill fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes on contact. Vectra 3D works within 6 hours, decreasing the risk of vector-borne diseases. This medication is over the counter, but only available for purchase from your veterinarian. We carry Vectra for dogs and cats.
- Revolution: Revolution is a safe and simple monthly topical medication used to protect your pet from heartworm, fleas, and ear mites, roundworms and hookworms. Revolution requires a prescription from your veterinarian. We carry Revolution for cats, puppies, and rabbits.
